The Trust preserves private land as wilderness through conservation easements, land acquisition and education. Founded in 2001, our goals are to: preserve and create wilderness, promote the protection of private land as wild, and educate landowners and the general public about the importance of wilderness in the Northeast.

The land preservation intern will work closely with the staff in carrying out tasks such as: researching land protection projects, site visits to protected land, reports and grant writing, office duties pertaining to land protection, and other duties necessary to fulfill our mission. The Northeast Wilderness Trust has a successful internship program benefiting both interns and sponsoring institutions. Internship opportunities are available during all semesters.
