Laws change; people die; the land remains. —Abraham Lincoln

In March of 2010 the Northeast Wilderness Trust accepted the donation of an easement on a 37-acre, heavily forested tract in Sandwich, New Hampshire. This property contains undeveloped mature forest, with some areas unlogged for more than a century, and abundant wetlands. This remote and unfragmented tract supports excellent wildlife habitat, contains eight natural communities, is surrounded by other remote and high quality forest land, and is very near to the Alice Bemis Thompson Sanctuary. The easement donors conveyed ownership of this property to the Lakes Region Conservation Trust.
